About Executive Chef Jeremy Ford

Chef de Cuisine Jeremy Ford

Born and raised on the coast of Jacksonville, Florida, Chef Jeremy Ford commenced his culinary career at the early age of sixteen. Ford quickly dove into the culinary industry, taking his first job as a Garde Manager at Matthews, a four-star Mediterranean restaurant in his hometown, where he cultivated the basic skill of mincing vegetables. Just one year later, Ford packed up and headed for Los Angeles, taking a position at the world-renowned French restaurant, L-Orangerie. Having to immerse himself into a French speaking kitchen was an initial challenge that proved to be an asset for the young protégé, as Jeremy was able to absorb knowledge by watching and learning. As an observer of the kitchen, Ford took note of the keen attention to detail, and precision the culinary team cooked with. Every technique, from how to handle fine ingredients, to properly fileting a fish, aided Ford in developing a dedication to his craft. Constantly inspired to learn, Ford would wake early to join celebrity chef and Iron Chef competitor, Cristophe Emeron, in the kitchen. He yearned to take part in “the fun stuff” and witness the preparation of the signature dishes Emeron created. This experience and knowledge ultimately shaped the young chef, as he later moved on to work with Master Chef Joachim Splichal at Patina, and Jean Jacques de Paris. Currently, Jeremy Ford presides in an esteemed position at Miami Beach’s EDITION Hotel, as Executive Chef of Matador Room by Michelin-star celebrity chef, Jean- Georges Vongerichten.
